An exhibition in Downtown KC will feature a super-sized textile installation, pattern-charged design and a 9-look fashion show.  Artist Whitney Manney titled her exhibit and her label’s sixth collection, ArkhiMODiste.  A runway fashion show will be held at the opening reception on Friday, September 11th at 7pm. Manney will give an artist talk on September 25th at noon in the gallery.    All events are free and open to the public.

Manney’s innovative fashion designs are functional and wearable.  Her new work was inspired by the industrial spirit that has shaped our urban landscape.

Kansas City native Whitney Manney graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute in 2012.  Her collections have been showcased in ten local/regional shows including a solo exhibit at UMKC Gallery of Art, Kansas City Fashion Week, Saint Louis Fashion Week and Mulvane Art Museum at Washburn University.  As a 2013 ArtsKC Inspiration Grant recipient, Manney participated in teaching partnerships with the HALO Foundation and various area schools.
