Bio
Kansas City–based interdisciplinary artist and founder of Gypsy Soul Work, Samantha Ridgway creates spaces for self-guided exploration and collective making. Her work began as a personal shift away from perfectionism, where painting became a way to move out of the mind and through the hands. Since 2019, she has facilitated workshops and large-scale interactive painting experiences using unconventional tools, movement, and intuitive process. She invites people to arrive without expectation or rules, letting gesture and play take over. Her practice prioritizes the experience of making over the finished work—transforming it into a space of release, connection, and return to freedom.
Connection to the theme Home
Home, to me, is community—the people you surround yourself with, the support, connection, and shared sense of belonging that make a space feel alive. It is safety, love, and respect. When each individual has room to thrive, the community as a whole can flourish.
