Bio

Sara Nicole Glass, aka MissConception is a Kansas City–born poet, emcee, educator, and performer blending spoken word, hip-hop, and immersive storytelling. After a decade in San Francisco, she’s returned to her Midwest roots. A KU Journalism graduate, she’s released six albums and three books. She founded Jazzhaus of Lawrence Poetry Slurrrr, co-founded Poetic Underground, and was the founder/creative director of the VibeTribeKC. A seasoned performer, she’s appeared on major stages at Wakarusa, Burning Man and Electric Forest. Also a DJ, event producer, and flow artist, she creates high-energy, community-driven experiences through music, movement, and art in the themes of social justice, freedom, and kindness.

Connection to the theme Home

My poem “Miss Kansas City” pays tribute to well-known places all over the KC Metro, which is about missing home and then returning. It is an epic saga that has much meaning and personality. I also would love to offer flow art to accompany perhaps another artist or larger production that would warrant enough space and appropriateness for a fire performance or LED performances.
