Artist Interview

By: Lilly Gerend

Tres collective is a trio, including Serenity Speaks, Comfy Stennis, and Gie Santana, of renowned spoken word artists, authors, and creatives.

Performing on July 16th on board the KC Streetcar, Tres Collective expressed excitement in the opportunity through Art in the Loop. They stated “we wanted to be a part of this season’s Art in the Loop because we genuinely see it as a cool and interactive way to connect poetry with the people” and they arelooking to connect with our community through dazzling words and evolving energy.”

All three women have spent years developing their craft, “taking true life experiences, dreams, pain, passion, and joy and fueling the art of spoken word, fashion, and publication along the way,” they stated.

Their eclectic energy surrounds a community using spoken word, with their performance deriving from real life experiences, emulating love and gratitude, creating a heartfelt experience for all. Diving into this year’s Art in the Loop theme of “Wonder” has allowed Tres collective, in their words, “to tap into the magical entities within ourselves and our beloved city, Kansas City.

We look forward to experiencing their performance on board the KC Streetcar on July 16th at 6:00 P.M. and connecting with their beautiful, personal art form in Kansas City and Art in the Loop.
